Reflections: I’m drawn to the mirror image of the physical world in water. These paintings appear to be upside down, but I only painted what’s reflected. As water levels rise, these visuals will increase.

A Human Sea: Seven portraits of people living in areas that will be underwater in the next century given sea level rise predictions. The red ‘puzzle piece’ motif connects disparate people from vastly different backgrounds. However, all are susceptible to the same environmental issue. The flesh tones over the red was perhaps a subconscious reaction to the images of Varanasi’s public cremations I’ve been exposed to while resident in Varanasi at Kriti Gallery.
